Seen only in the north of Scotland, the Crested Tit is small but beautifully formed, and featured here by artist Madeleine Floyd in an exquisite water colour drawing.
A busy little bird, the Crested Tit is rarely still, and feeds avidly in old Scots Pine trees. Its call – a happy ‘troolooloo’ type trill which is high pitched and repeated over and over – is captured in lettering around the base of the mug. And if egg-spotting is your thing, there’s an illustration of the delicately speckled egg on the other side of the mug!
